About New Seasons New Seasons is a collection of Wiley Hilburn's columns written for The Monroe News-Star and The Times (of Shreveport) over the last fifteen years. Hilburn's first book from his weekly column, Fragments, introduced us to the North Louisiana of our childhood, took us down country lanes, and conjured up the seasons and lost time. Copies of his now sold-out book found their way to bedside tables, Christmas stockings, and the floor board of many a North Louisiana pickup truck. In this book, he continues to delight us with his wry humor and keen insight into North Louisiana life, love, stray dogs, weather and the social order at the Huddle House. If this is a new season in the life and times of Wiley Hilburn, then this collection is its journal. So read on -- and welcome to North Louisiana -- with its unique people, places, folk history and family experiences -- as it could only be revealed by the adventures and imagination of its most enthusiastic resident. |
